Dixie has been ‘twinned’ with the Jade Gymnasium, Bremen for 12 years. Students in Years 10 and 11 take part in a bi-annual reciprocal visit. Our newest exchange is with the College Prive Emmanuel-d'Alzon, Nimes and involves Year 10 French students in an annual exchange.
These homestay exchanges give students the opportunity to improve their language skills and understanding of the culture and life of the opposite country..
“My first impressions when we arrived in England were: Nice people, tiny houses and drivers places in cars were on the wrong side ! – but I thought that it will be a great week ! And I was right……..it was a great week ! “
“I’m very sad and I don’t want to leave. I love the language and I related to the changes and the people very much . I had so much fun and a good time here .”
“I know that typical for England is FISH + CHIPS, so I had to try it . It tasted wonderful.”
“….but the most beautiful thing was to spend time with the family. I have to say that I felt like at home with them.”
