“Inspirational”, “Seasoned with energy and humour” and "Taught with flair” (ISI Inspection Report March 2006)

Here at the Dixie we are passionate about languages, believing them to be the key to 21st century citizenship, providing the crucial link in an increasingly global economy and multi-cultural society.

We are proud to offer French and German to all students up to A2 level and are delighted that these more established languages have been complemented by Mandarin Chinese since September 2004. Please click on the various language options or see the links below.

In addition to curriculum languages, lunchtime clubs offer students the opportunity to learn conversational Spanish and Hungarian.

To enhance classroom study, we are committed to a vibrant programme of visits and exchanges, which bring languages to life for our students and foster strong international relations and lifelong friendships.

Please have a look at our new language blog, designed to allow students to preserve and share oral and creative work.
