The Dixie Grammar Junior School offers a broad balance of sports within the curriculum, delivered by specific sports coaches and teachers. The School endeavours to develop a positive competitiveness in a wide range of activities.
PE lessons focus on football, netball, hockey, cross-country, rounders, cricket, rugby and athletics with our extra-curricular programme offering everything from badminton to lacrosse.
The children compete in Inter-House events, local leagues, Regional and National levels in a variety of sports both as individuals and teams. Moving in to competition is where our pupils really grow.
Achievement and Honours
Dixie pupils have enjoyed many local, Midlands and National successes. We regularly compete at the School Games in Leicestershire and Rutland, have collected titles at Midlands level for tag rugby, football and swimming and have had successful entries in the ISA Nationals for both athletics and swimming.
In 2014 The Dixie’s commitment to Sport was recognised by our Governing Body, the ISA, awarding us the ‘Outstanding Provision in Sport.’
