In all aspects of their life at Dixie, pupils are encouraged to take risks, challenge themselves and gain the confidence and skills that will enable them to move to the next stage of their education.  From leadership opportunities and the 75 clubs and societies on offer to 4-week treks in Africa and the opportunity to master four foreign languages, this philosophy can be clearly traced throughout all we offer.  It naturally follows that Dixie sets great store by offering pupils education outdoors as well as inside the classroom.

This is not just through games sessions and educational trips and visits, but through a considered programme of education, which begins with the large, safe and secure outdoor area in which nursery children learn and play, through to the Forest School programme in the Junior School, continuing through to the Senior School with Dixie Open Skies Education, Duke of Edinburgh and World Challenge.  At the end of each phase of their education at Dixie, students are ready for a seamless move to the next.

Whether it is to Reception Class, the Senior School, the Sixth Form or university, students move armed with the skills, confidence and ability they need to continue to flourish and love learning. This is thanks not only to excellent academic teaching, but also to the autonomy and resilience they have learned through taking risks and facing challenges outdoors.
