Children are eligible to join the Nursery on or after their third birthday.
Parents will be invited to spend some time with Mrs G Hayward, Nursery Manager to get to know the routines followed in the Nursery and to ask any questions they may have. Children are invited to spend a morning or a day with us to let them get to know the setting before officially joining us. This also gives the key workers the opportunity to assess the developmental stages of the child and prepare accordingly.
Admissions to Reception is by teacher assessment.
Admission to Years 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 is by academic assessment, in the form of standardised tests in Mathematics and English, and classroom observation. Each prospective pupil will be invited to spend two days with their year group. This will allow the year group teachers to assess the child in the classroom environment and, at the same time, let the child get to know the classroom routines and make friendships before joining the School.
Interviews, assessments and entrance tests are formally timetabled to take place in January, but arrangements can be made at other times of the year. The Entrance Examination in January is available for those wishing to apply for a scholarship to the Senior School.
