Christian Smaditch was presented with the Whitbread Memorial Prize 2015 yesterday at the House of Lords, by Lord Lexden, President of ISA. Christian was accompanied by his parents. Mr Paul Smith, Chair of Governors and Richard Lynn, Headmaster were there to witness the presentation.

The award is given for outstanding GCSE success, but more than that, for outstanding contribution beyond the classroom. In summarising Christian’s accomplishments, Lord Lexden highlighted four M’s: Music, Medicine, Mankind and an overall Magnificent.

Christian was presented with a book token, and a cheque for £200 to his nominated charity, the Joe Humphries Memorial Trust. The school received a commemorative plaque.

All 372 ISA schools are invited to enter, and Christian’s application stood out from the other 799 received by ISA.

This is wonderful recognition for the school, but more than that a fantastic acknowledgement from the ISA of all that Christian has achieved.

The awards were presented for a second time to Christian in this morning’s presentation assembly.
