The last two weeks has underlined the challenge and variety of life in the Dixie:
Year 6 have been to the Rosliston forestry centre, hosted Year 5 in our science and induction days, were trained in CPR by our new Head boy and Deputy Head girl, Christian and Eve, and have been to the Junior School with their home made instruments to take the lead in our South American Day. Year 7 have been to Kingswood activity centre, Year 8 to Germany for the week, the remainder went to Ellesmere School in Leicester as part of a joint school community project and Year 9 have returned from their Geography trip in Dorset. Year 10 are out today on their DofE Bronze expedition and every member of the yeargroup is involved. Following our L6 referendum campaign and question time style assembly all students in the school voted and Christian, Kate and Lewie were the first to declare our vote – at 2201 on referendum day. After their exams, Year11 have been out on work experience this week and are looking forward to their prom in our marquee on Friday. Nine of our athletes were representing the Midlands in the ISA National Athletics final – they returned with a clutch of medals. This morning saw the Final House Quiz of the year and next week we look forward to Sports Day, the Strawberry prom and Prize Giving!
