A fantastic afternoon was had by all competitors at the Hugglescote area athletics on Wednesday 24 May. The weather was great and there were some excellent performances. Special mentions go to the following top three performers:
Ethan Mclaughlin under 13 boys ran a very good 800m finishing 3rd in 2.49mins.
James Curtis under 13 boys finished 2nd in the Discus with 19 metres.
Emma Chapman under 13 girls cleared 3.49m in the long jump.
Will Arrowsmith Junior boys had a throw of 24.95m in the javelin finishing 3rd.
Oliver Crane Junior boys finished 3rd in the Discus with 17.58m.
Jared Cutler Intermediate boys finished 3rd in the 1500m with a very creditable time of 4.43mins.
Exceptional performances go to our county qualifiers listed below who will now go on to represent the area of Hugglescote at the Leicestershire County athletics championships on Saturday 10 June at Saffron Lane, Leicester:
