During the summer holidays a group of ten Year 9 and 10 students travelled to China for two weeks. After a few days sight seeing in Beijing they travelled south by high speed train to Jinan City for a week of Mandarin language lessons and cultural activities based at Shandong University. They also travelled to Qufu City which is the birth place of Confucius.
I really enjoyed going up to the Great Wall by cable car and then going down the mountainside using a toboggan – amazing!

One of my favourite moments was dancing in a big square in Jinan at night with lots of local people.

I enjoyed walking through the narrow streets of old Jinan and looking at all the traditional shops.

We really enjoyed playing football in the evening with Shandong University students. Even though there was a language barrrier we could still play a game together.
