It is always a great pleasure to catch up with former students and it was with real delight that we were able to welcome back three students who had been amongst the very first Sixth Formers to attend the Dixie Grammar School after its re-opening in 1987.

Kate Villa, Clare Malec and Zoe Dawes returned to share their memories and it was fascinating to hear that, whilst much renovation and re-purposing of rooms had taken place, Dixie’s traditions, expectations and focus as well as the sounds and feel of the buildings were all very familiar still.

Kate offered this short write-up on behalf of these three very special alumni:

After more than three decades since completing our A-Levels, Clare, Zoe, and I reunited recently to reminisce about our Dixie days. Despite living in different counties and countries, and balancing the complexities of family life and demanding careers, we cherished the opportunity to spend a couple of hours strolling down memory lane and exchanging stories. As we compared notes on the changes that had occurred over the years — and, perhaps more significantly, what had remained unchanged — we found delight in witnessing the evolution of Dixie.

As a school, we are always keen to develop our links with all alumni and encourage any former students who would like to be part of this to contact us on office@dixie.org.uk
